Terms of use

The agreement between you and Hostsphere India Private Limited when you use JuxTravel. JuxTravel is a marketplace: your stay is a contract with the host.

Some sections are still with our lawyers — each is marked below.

01Who you are contracting with

Legal entity Hostsphere India Private Limited ("JuxTravel", "we", "us")

02Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract in India. Children may travel with you as guests, but may not hold an account. You are responsible for everyone in your booking party, including making sure they follow the house rules.

03Accounts and sign-in

You need an account to book, save stays, post Moments or use Passport. Keep your sign-in method secure and your details accurate. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. One person, one account — do not share it, sell it, or create accounts on behalf of others without authority.

04Our role: JuxTravel is a marketplace

This is the most important clause on this page.

JuxTravel is a technology platform that connects travellers with independent homestay and villa owners. We are not the owner, operator, landlord or manager of the properties listed on JuxTravel, and we do not provide accommodation.

When you book:

  • the contract for the stay is between you and the host;
  • JuxTravel is not a party to it;
  • the host is solely responsible for the property, its condition, safety, licensing, amenities, the accuracy of its listing, and the experience you have there;
  • we facilitate discovery, booking, payment collection and support.

We operate as an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and as a marketplace e-commerce entity under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. We do not exercise editorial control over host listings, other than the verification and moderation described below.

Where a Hostsphere India group company also manages a property listed on JuxTravel, that relationship is disclosed on the listing.

05Traveller verification

To keep the community trustworthy, we may ask you to verify your identity before or after a booking. We may decline, limit or reverse a booking if verification fails, if information appears false, or if we reasonably suspect fraud. Verification is a trust measure, not a guarantee about any person.

06Host identity and property verification

We take reasonable steps to verify host identity and property details. Verification is not a warranty. It does not mean we have inspected the property, tested its safety, or confirmed every claim in the listing. We may suspend or remove a listing that fails verification, receives credible complaints, or breaches these terms.

07Trip briefs, Jux Fit and match results

You can describe your trip in your own words and set preferences. JuxTravel uses automated processing to produce match results and recommendations.

These are suggestions based on the information available to us. They are estimates and editorial judgements, not promises. Suitability, availability and pricing can change. You decide what to book, and you should read the listing and the host's terms before you do.

08The Reality Layer

The Reality Layer shows travel effort, trade-offs, vibe and honest reviews so you can decide with confidence. It draws on host inputs, traveller reviews, third-party map and travel-time data, and our own editorial assessment.

We work hard to make it accurate. We do not guarantee it. Road conditions, weather, seasonality and local circumstances change. Treat travel-time and effort figures as estimates, and plan accordingly — particularly for hill routes, monsoon travel, and stays with limited road access.

09Listings and honest information

Hosts must provide accurate, current and honest information about their property, including location, capacity, amenities, accessibility, house rules, pets, and any material limitation such as water availability, power backup, network coverage, road access or ongoing construction nearby.

Hosts must not misrepresent a property, use photographs that are not of the actual property, or list a property they are not authorised to let. Misrepresentation may result in listing removal, cancellation at the host's cost, withholding of payouts, and account termination.

Hosts are responsible for their own legal compliance, including any state homestay or tourism registration, municipal permissions, fire and safety requirements, GST registration where applicable, and — where foreign nationals stay — filing Form C with the authorities under the Registration of Foreigners Act. Detailed host obligations are in the [[Host Terms]].

10Pricing, taxes and fees

Prices are set by hosts. Before you pay, we show you the total payable, broken down into the nightly rate, any host charges, applicable taxes including GST, and the JuxTravel service fee where one applies.

  • We do not add unavoidable charges after you reach the payment screen.
  • Taxes are charged at the rates in force on the date of booking and may change if the law changes.
  • Where a price is displayed in error and is obviously wrong, we or the host may cancel and refund in full rather than honour it.
  • Guests pay the nightly rate and nothing else — there is no guest service fee. Our commission is charged to the host and deducted from their payout; it is set out in the Host Terms.

11Booking

A booking request becomes a confirmed booking only when you receive a confirmation from JuxTravel. Until then, availability is not held. Some listings are instant-book and some require host acceptance; the listing tells you which.

Your confirmation, the host's listing terms, the cancellation policy on that listing and its house rules, together with these terms, make up your booking agreement.

12Group bookings and voting

If you book for a group, you are the contracting traveller. You are responsible for payment, for the conduct of your group, and for passing on booking details, house rules and cancellation terms to everyone in it.

Group voting is a coordination tool. A vote outcome is not a booking and does not hold availability. Only the person who completes payment holds the booking, and only that person can change or cancel it.

13Optional experiences and add-ons

Some listings offer experiences, meals, transfers or other add-ons, provided by the host or by a third-party operator. Those are supplied by the provider, not by JuxTravel, and may carry their own terms, timings and cancellation rules. Availability is not guaranteed until confirmed.

14Payments

Payments on JuxTravel are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited. We do not store your full card number, CVV or UPI PIN. Card details are tokenised in line with RBI requirements.

  • Pay only through JuxTravel. Do not pay a host directly or off-platform. If you do, you lose the protection of our booking, cancellation and support processes, and we cannot help you recover the money.
  • We will never ask for your full card details, OTP or PIN over WhatsApp, email or a call.
  • If a payment fails or is reversed, the booking may be cancelled.
  • Host payouts are governed by the [[Host Terms]].

15Cancellations, changes and refunds

The full policy, including the three tiers and how refunds are calculated, is published at juxtravel.com/cancellation-refunds. The tiers there are quoted verbatim from the code that enforces them, and the policy shown on a listing when you booked is the one that applies to that booking.

Each listing displays the host's cancellation policy. You agree to that policy at checkout, and it governs what you get back if you cancel.

  • Cancellation by you — refunds follow the policy shown on the listing when you booked. Changing a listing's policy later does not alter a booking already made. There are three:

    Policy Refund
    Flexible Full refund until 24 hours before check-in. Non-refundable after that.
    Moderate Full refund until 7 days before check-in, then 50% until 48 hours before. Non-refundable inside 48 hours.
    Firm Full refund until 30 days before check-in, then 50% until 15 days before. Non-refundable inside 15 days.

    Where a listing does not state one, Moderate applies.

  • Cancellation by the host — you receive a full refund of amounts paid, and we will help you find an alternative. Hosts who cancel confirmed bookings may face penalties under the Host Terms.

  • Cancellation by JuxTravel — we may cancel for suspected fraud, failed verification, listing misrepresentation or safety concerns, with a full refund where you are not at fault.

  • Extenuating circumstances — where an officially declared event makes the stay impossible or unsafe, the guest receives a full refund, the host owes nothing and takes no reliability consequence, and JuxTravel waives its commission on that booking. Nobody caused it, so nobody carries it alone. The trigger is a declaration by an authority — a government or district order, an IMD warning, a notified road closure — and not a forecast or a general assessment of conditions.

  • Refund timelines — approved refunds are initiated within 3 and reach your original payment method within the timelines of your bank or payment provider, typically 5–7 working days after initiation.

  • Service fees — not applicable — guests are not charged a service fee.

16House rules, conduct and damage

At checkout you agree to the host's house rules. Follow them. Do not exceed the stated guest count, hold an unauthorised event, or bring pets where they are not permitted.

You are responsible for damage you or your party cause beyond fair wear and tear. Hosts may raise a damage claim through JuxTravel; we will review it and share the evidence with you before any charge, and you may contest it.

Hosts must provide a safe, clean property matching the listing, respect your privacy, and must not have undisclosed recording devices in private areas.

17Passport membership

Passport is a paid annual membership costing ₹9,999 per year, charged once for the year.

Decided, not pending. One-time was chosen over auto-renewal deliberately: auto-renewal is an RBI e-mandate build — pre-debit notification before every charge, a cancellation route, price-change notice — and with an annual term starting at launch the first renewal is not due until September 2027. There is a year to build it properly, and moving to auto-renewal later only requires asking members to opt in. Promising it now and not performing it is the direction that cannot be undone.

  • the price, billing period and benefits are shown before you subscribe;
  • it does not renew automatically. There is no recurring mandate and no automatic charge — when the year ends, the membership lapses unless you choose to buy another;
  • you may cancel within 14 days of subscribing for a full refund;
  • after that window the annual fee is not refundable in part, because the membership is sold for the year rather than by the month;
  • if the price changes, it applies to your next purchase, not to a year you have already paid for.

Passport stamps, moments and trip history are a record, not a currency, and have no cash value.

18Moments, reels and user content

You own what you post. To let us run the service, you grant JuxTravel a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, display and distribute your content on and in connection with JuxTravel, including in JuxTravel marketing Marketing use is not included. Using your photos to promote JuxTravel requires a separate opt-in, which you can withdraw at any time.. The licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies already shared by others, cached copies, and backups.

You confirm that you have the rights to what you post, that you have the consent of identifiable people in it, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

You must not post content that: belongs to someone else without permission; is obscene, paedophilic, or invasive of another's privacy including bodily privacy; is defamatory, harassing, racially or ethnically objectionable, or promotes money laundering or gambling; harms a child; infringes intellectual property; is deceptive or misleading about its origin; impersonates another person; threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, its friendly relations with foreign states, or public order; or contains software viruses or harmful code.

This list reflects our due-diligence obligations under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

Removal. We may remove content that breaches these terms. Where we receive a valid court order or a notification from an appropriate government agency about unlawful content, we will act within 3 hours, as required by the 2026 amendments to the IT Rules. Complaints about non-consensual imagery, impersonation or artificially morphed images of a person are acted on within 24 hours. Repeat breaches result in account termination.

19AI-generated content

If you post content that has been created, generated, modified or altered using artificial intelligence — images, video, audio or text — you must declare it at upload. This is a legal requirement under the IT Rules as amended in 2026, not just a house preference.

  • We will label declared AI content visibly, and embed provenance metadata in it.
  • You must not remove, suppress or alter an AI label or its metadata.
  • We may apply automated detection and label content ourselves where we identify it as synthetically generated.
  • Falsely declaring, or failing to declare, synthetic content may result in removal and account termination.

Where JuxTravel itself generates or substantially alters imagery or copy with AI, we label it.

20Reviews

Reviews must be from a real, completed stay and must reflect your genuine experience. We do not publish paid or incentivised reviews, we do not remove a review simply because a host dislikes it, and we do not edit the substance of a review. We may remove reviews that breach section 18, are irrelevant to the stay, or contain personal data about third parties. Hosts may respond publicly.

21Things you must not do

Do not: circumvent JuxTravel to take a booking off-platform; scrape, crawl or bulk-extract listings or content; reverse-engineer the app; interfere with the platform's security or availability; use JuxTravel for anything unlawful; create fake accounts, listings, bookings or reviews; or use JuxTravel's data to build a competing service.

22Our intellectual property

The JuxTravel name, logo, mascot, Passport, Jux Fit, Reality Layer, the app, the website, and all associated content and software are owned by Hostsphere India Private Limited or its licensors. These terms give you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. Nothing more is granted.

23WhatsApp, notifications and support

You may choose to receive booking updates and support on WhatsApp. Transactional messages about a live booking form part of the service. Marketing messages are opt-in, and you can stop them by replying STOP or changing your notification preferences.

Support runs primarily in the app, where your booking context is already attached. You can also reach us at support@juxtravel.com.

24Disclaimers and limitation of liability

JuxTravel is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that listings, match results, Reality Layer estimates or reviews are complete or accurate.

Because we are not a party to the stay contract (section 04), we are not liable for the acts or omissions of hosts, guests or third-party experience providers, for the condition or safety of any property, or for anything that happens during your stay.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim connected with JuxTravel is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid for the booking giving rise to the claim, or (b) ₹25,000. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data or goodwill.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

25Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Hostsphere India Private Limited against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms, your content, your conduct during a stay, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

26Suspension, termination and account deletion

We may suspend or terminate your account, remove listings or content, or cancel bookings if you breach these terms, if we reasonably suspect fraud or unlawful activity, or if required by law. Where practical we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

You can delete your account in the app, or at https://juxtravel.com/delete-account. Deletion does not cancel active bookings or extinguish amounts owed. Sections 22, 24, 25 and 28 survive termination.

28Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India.

Step 1 — talk to us. Most issues are resolved through Support or the Grievance Officer.

Step 2 — the courts at New Delhi. ``` The courts at New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction.

Nothing here prevents a consumer from approaching a consumer forum under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

29Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Where a change is material, we will notify you in the app or by email at least 15 days before it takes effect, and we will remind you of these terms at least once a year as Indian law requires. Continuing to use JuxTravel after a change takes effect means you accept it. The version and effective date at the top tell you which version you are reading.

30General

If a provision is held unenforceable, the rest stands. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them to a group company or successor. These terms, the Privacy & data page, the listing's cancellation policy and house rules, and any Host Terms, are the whole agreement between us on this subject.
